Fifth Wheel Trailer Low Rider

Sometimes, tongue height for a trailer is critical. This trailer was specially designed to carry a water tank mounted in a rectangular base. It needed a low deck height to keep the center of gravity as low as possible for the very heavy load, while needing a higher tongue height to match the towing fork lift. Keeping the tongue horizontal is important to optimize the function of the hitch and to avoid any binding during turns.

In this case, the tongue is specially designed to connect to the fifth wheel running gear at one height and match the tow vehicle at a different height. The standard lashing rings are used to secure the water tank during transport. Eight massive dual-mounted 15 X 9 Press-on Poly wheels team up to handle the high capacity, and the fifth wheel steering provides maneuverability.
