5K Cart with Sloped Shelves Secures Components

XT2515.jpg

Hamilton has been designing shelf carts for a very long time and some have unique design requirements. This shelf cart has three shelves each sloped downward 7 degrees to keep the parts towards the center of the cart. The slope helps to prevent parts from falling or rolling off the trailer while being towed through the facility. Each shelf has an expanded metal base that allows for parts to be washed, painted, or dried and permits excess liquids to drip through. Fork pockets are mounted laterally under the frame and enable the empty cart to be moved or stored easily by a lift truck.

Two-wheel auto-steering enhances stability by keeping the wheels safely under the load during turns, and polyurethane wheels protect the floor. The large 12” diameter wheels provide an aggregate capacity well in excess of the trailer’s 5000 lbs. load requirement but are important when the load is uneven and forces can vary greatly. Large diameter wheels also reduce the rolling resistance making it easier to maneuver manually and reducing the power required to tow.

Technical Specifications on the cart:
